Renewable Energy

The energy transition is a capital formation problem long before it is a technology problem.

Overview

  • Generation
  • Storage
  • Grid
  • Development
  • Construction
  • Operating assets

Renewable generation is now built at industrial scale in most developed markets. The binding constraint is rarely engineering. It is the availability of capital prepared to sit in a particular part of the structure, at a particular point in the asset life, on terms both sides can live with.

Those pools of capital do not behave alike. Development capital is scarce and priced accordingly. Construction capital is cautious and heavily conditioned. Operating assets attract a deep and competitive market. Most developers we speak to are not short of projects. They are short of the specific capital that matches the stage they have actually reached.

Juliet Rose reviews opportunities across generation, storage and the infrastructure that enables both. Where an opportunity is credible and the requirement is clearly defined, we introduce it to capital sources whose mandates fit. We introduce. We do not advise.

Assessment

What we look for

Capital sources

Where introductions are made

Categories of capital, not named relationships. Fit is assessed against stated mandate on a case by case basis.

Seeking capital

Raising for a renewable energy opportunity

Tell us the stage, the amount, the instrument and what the capital funds. Where the requirement is defined and the evidence exists, we will tell you quickly whether we can be useful.

Investing in this sector

If your mandate covers renewable energy, set out the criteria you apply. Introductions are made only against them.
